MUCINOUS CYSTADENOCARCINOMA

MUCINOUS CYSTADENOCARCINOMA

These tumors are characterized by mucin filled cystic spaces lined by tumor cells which secretes  mucin. These neoplastic cells transform in the centre of the lumen into squamoid elements. These features are not seen in the mucinous carcinoma of breast.

Mucinous cystadenocarcinoma : Mucin filled cystic spaces lined by tumor cells which are columnar to cuboidal. Interstitial Fibromuscular tissue shows lymphocytic infiltrate (H&E,X100).

Mucinous cystadenocarcinoma : Mucin filled cystic spaces lined by tumor cells which are low columnar to cuboidal. Interstitial Fibromuscular tissue shows lymphocytic infiltrate (H&E,X100).
